How to eat the best food in Orlando, Florida—and what to eat for the first time in Florida?
With the annual Bloomberg Farm Show taking place from May 6 to 20, we rounded up some of our favorite things to eat while in the city.
We’re guessing you’ll have some fun at your local farmers market, too.
Beers with a splash of sugar and spices.
The first time you visit Bloomberg, you’re probably not going to be able to resist some sweet and savory brews like porter or brown ale.
And if you’re looking for a little bit of sweetness, head to The Pinnacle, which will have all of the traditional American styles on tap: stout, pale ale, stout, stout with chocolate, pale lager, porter, stout ale, and more.
This event also has some interesting brews on tap, including an American IPA, a sour beer with honey and maple syrup, and a porter.
And of course, if you want to try something more adventurous, head over to The Blackstone Bar & Kitchen for a delicious breakfast.
Get the best view of the sun.
There’s nothing like the view from a farmhouse window to capture the sights, sounds, and smells of your favorite farms.
Take a tour of the farmhouse, and when the weather starts to cool, stop by The Black Stone for some light refreshments, and even a few hours of outdoor dining.
The Black’s menu will be bursting with farm-inspired foods, including a roasted red pepper, a grilled chicken breast, and some roasted corn.
Drink a lot of water.
There are so many different types of beverages available in Orlando—and if you have the chance, grab a bottle of some of the best locally made bottled water in town.
And then grab a cup of coffee from one of the various watering holes that will be open to the public throughout the event.
There will also be water fountains throughout the city, so be sure to grab a water bottle when you’re there.
And as for the weather?
We’d bet you’re going to get a little sweaty if you drink too much water.
Visit the Florida Botanic Garden.
We know there’s a ton of beauty to be found in the Botanic Gardens, but if you haven’t been there, it’s worth checking out.
There, you’ll be able for the very first time to see a live, working flower in action.
The Garden, located at the Botanical Garden in Orlando’s East End neighborhood, is a great way to learn more about how plants grow and grow well.
If you can’t make it to the Botanics, head into The B&M and take a tour.
Grab some of Orlando’s best cocktails.
For those who enjoy a bit of local craft beer, head on over to the Brewmaster Bar in Downtown Orlando and grab a few of the most popular cocktails in town: the Orange Blossom, the Peach Biscuit, and the Bloody Mary.
These are only some of those you can sample on the premises.
The cocktail menu includes a variety of unique drinks from local craft breweries, as well as a handful of local-inspired brews.
Grab a cocktail while you’re in the Orlando area.
If that sounds like too much to ask, don’t worry.
If there’s one thing you can do while in Orlando that’s going to help you feel better about your health, it might be going for a hike.
There is a hike that takes you around the Botany Bay area.
The trail is a beautiful one, and there are numerous trails that will take you to the beach and around the city for a walk.
Here are some of them to keep in mind: The Garden Walk is a 3.5-mile loop hike in the heart of the Botans Bay neighborhood.
